Exporting your pet/s from MozambiqueAs the import rules vary hugely depending on the country of destination and the means of transport it is advisable to start preparing the transportation as early as possible. All animals being exported from Mozambique will need the following: - Valid innoculations - Health certificate - Export permit In addition Most African countries require an import permit. When transporting your pets to an EU country, please note that the procedure can take up to 4 months! Your pet will need, in this order:
United States requires that the pets shipper is a recognized and regulated agent, such as Air-A-Pet. Importing your pets to South Africa requires the following: a. All dogs, cats, reptiles and primates need to have been implanted with a microchip for identification and need a South African health certificate. For dogs the quarantine period is up to 14 days, there is no quarantine for cats. An import permit is required. b. The blood tests (for dogs only) may be done within 30 days before travel. c. Dogs are not allowed to enter South Africa by road, but only as manifest cargo to Johannesburg or Cape Town. When transporting your pets viaSouth Africa to SADC country you will need an in transit permit, the pets need to be micro-chipped and for dogs the blood tests must be done. When transporting via South AFrica to non-SADC country you will only need the in transit permit. There is no quarantine when the animals are in transit. When transporting birds or reptiles you should contact us for more information as these species are regulated under different set of rules to cats or dogs. NB! Your animal should have a valid rabies at all times. On the time of travel the rabies can't be more than a year or less than 30 days old! |
